Upper Hutt is On a Roll
Hi all and welcome to my first column in an ongoing series regarding the local property market and real estate in general.
Upper Hutt is on a roll and a great place to live indeed, why would you live anywhere else??? We have a choice of 15 primary schools, 2 intermediate schools and 4 colleges. It is home to some of New Zealand’s leading businesses, combined with excellent transport links to Wellington and Wairarapa by road, rail and bus.
According to the latest property figures for Upper Hutt, Upper Hutt remains in fourth place in the Wellington region for house sale price increases. The current median Upper Hutt sale is $325,252.00 up from $285,500 this time last year.
When you compare that to Wellington’s median house sale price at $500,694 and keeping in mind that Upper Hutt properties generally have more space than most city housing, I believe this should ensure a steady urban flow from Wellington heading north, as affordability in Wellington becomes a pipe dream for first time buyers.
With all that Upper Hutt has to offer, you couldn’t pick a better city to live in.
I moved here from London 5 years ago and I’m very proud to call Upper Hutt my home.
