Great news for vendors
Hi folks,
Two weeks ago, I wrote that there were 171 listings for sale on www.realeastate.co.nz, the lowest level of listings I have seen in Upper Hutt in my 12½ years of real estate here. At the time of writing that number is 153.
There are 2 simple reasons why the number of listings has dropped by more than 10% and they are the sheer speed in which new listings are sold and also moving into winter the market enters a traditional slowdown in new stock.

This means great news for vendors, less competition while selling, combined with truly motivated buyers with multi offers on a number of properties. As I’ve said previously, multi offers are becoming the new normal and no longer the exception
So what’s my advice? To buyers, it’s simple, buy something. It doesn’t have to be through me but we have had 8 years of zero growth, so there are plenty of legs left in this current property cycle and what you are looking at today will be a very different price in 6 or 12 months time and with current activity levels it’s extremely doubtful the average buyer can save as much as the market is rising!
And to sellers, my advice is even more simple “Call me!”
