Busiest sales month since March 2013!
Hi folks,
The Real Estate Institute has just released the sales figures for March 2015 and while they are not in the same league as that foreign country Auckland they do make for some pleasant reading. The actual number of residential sales in Upper Hutt was 77, making this the busiest sales month since March 2013.
Year to date we are running at 172 sales compared with 153 last year, the difference of 19 while not a particularly high figure does show some positivity back in our local market and combined with the recent Government changes to Kiwisaver to allow buyers to use more of it as deposit,
it looks like 2015 will be a far more positive year than 2014.
On another note, some of you may know that I talk on our local radio station, River FM, 88.1 every Thursday morning. (9.30am repeated on Sunday at 11am)
For those that don’t, I have been pushed into making monthly predictions about how I think the market will fare before I get the stats. I can confirm here I won’t be doing it again as in the first 3 months of this year I have called every month wrong, I remind myself why I don’t gamble, it’s because I’m not very good at it! If I could change the February and March stats around I would be fine but as I’m zero from 3, it’s definitely time to stop.
